White teeth are the most common aesthetic request we receive in our office. Teeth become stained over time from smoking, certain foods (such as cumin), and drinking red wine, coffee & tea. We really love helping patients whiten their teeth as it is exciting to see significant improvements in a smile in one quick and easy appointment. Tooth whitening is a well-tolerated, non-invasive, and cost-effective way to dramatically improve your smile. It is a great option for people with limited free time or for someone who wants instant results. Spa-Dent provides wonderful whitening benefits quickly and with virtually no sensitivity. Initial whitening appointments are scheduled for only 40 minutes and touch-up appointments every 6 months can be easily scheduled to coincide with your regular dental exam and hygiene appointment.
The whitening gel is applied to the teeth using trays containing precise dosages. A blue and red LED light is used to activate the carbamide peroxide gel, providing powerful whitening that penetrates the tooth enamel to break down stains that regular cleanings and your toothbrush cannot reach. This process penetrates the surface of the enamel but in no way harms or damages teeth or existing dental work. The Spa-Dent light does not contain UV light, the same wavelength of light that causes skin damage, as some other whitening systems use.

Veneers
Veneers are one of the most commonly chosen cosmetic options chosen due to their durability, long term dependability and their beautiful, natural look. Veneers are thin, custom made shells of porcelain that are bonded to teeth to create a beautiful and natural looking smile. Preparation of a tooth for a veneer is quite conservative with minimal removal of natural tooth structure. When placed properly and looked after, they look natural and can last many years. A benefit of porcelain is that it does not stain over time. With the advanced cements and bonding agents available today, veneers typically last 10-20 years.
Veneers can be used to fix just one tooth in the mouth that does not match the rest of the smile, or they can be used to fix all the teeth in a smile. They can be used to:

At your first appointment Dr. Brescia and her team will take a series of records, photographs, and impressions that will be used to plan your new smile. She will spend time getting to know you and what results you would like to see. At a second appointment Dr. Brescia will prepare your teeth, shape them, and take impressions that are sent to a laboratory for fabrication of the veneers. Dr. Brescia works with highly skilled lab technicians and the veneers are crafted to her exact specifications. It takes about two weeks for your veneers to be fabricated, but during this time you will be wearing provisional veneers which often look better than your natural teeth did. At the third appointment your veneers are bonded into place and you leave our office with your wonderful, renewed, fresh smile. Your new teeth will look so beautiful that no one will even know you had any dentistry done, and Dr. Brescia feels that is the most important test of a successful outcome.
